German GCSE (Edexcel) - coming soon

We are delighted to announce that we will soon be offering a German GCSE (Edexcel) course. German is one of the most widely spoken languages in Europe, and the German economy is the largest in Europe. Learning German can therefore help widen employment opportunities as well as provide an enriched cultural experience when travelling and/or working in Germany.

Our GCSE course has been created and will be presented by Ruth Ward, a highly experienced, PGCE qualified teacher. The comprehensive course material will build the learner’s skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening and will prepare them to succeed in the exams. The sessions will be delivered via pre-recorded lessons in which students will benefit from Ruth’s in-depth knowledge of the syllabus.  The material will be suitable for both beginners and those with some previous knowledge of German.

The course will follow the Pearson Edexcel specification that can be viewed here. The broad themes covered in the course are:

  • My personal world
  • Lifestyle and wellbeing
  • My neighbourhood
  • Media and technology
  • Studying and my future
  • Travel and tourism

These engaging themes will encourage the building of a wide and useful vocabulary and the development of language skills.

It is also worth noting that there is no requirement to take the exams on completion of the course. Many students follow our courses as they enjoy the structured approach, quality of the teaching and opportunity to build confidence and ability at their own pace.

Please note: We will put a message on the home page when the course is available. We will also be notifying subscribers to our ‘Course updates’. If you would like to be emailed when the course is available, please scroll down to the ‘To receive course updates’ box.
