Dr Beer has selected the following components for this comprehensive A-Level course:

Component 1: The World of the Hero – Homer’s Odyssey

Component 2: Culture and the Arts – Greek Theatre (H408/21)

Component 3: Beliefs and ideas – Politics of the Late Republic (H408/33)

The syllabus encourages learners to develop skills in critical analysis and to engage with a wealth of sources and ideas. The skills acquired during the course are highly transferable both to other classical subjects and further afield.

At the end of the modules there will opportunities to review and revise material before practising skills and knowledge through some examination-type papers. Mark schemes will help candidates to understand what is required by the examiners to achieve the highest grades.
